AC:2 Problem Sloving

 Rationale

Was very important for me to pitch my ideas, research and thought process to the entire class of my fellow students and lecturers etc., to better ensure that all of my research is appriote, necessary and revalent to my candidate brief. This was very important because forming all of my research and case studies, and condensing them into one small PowerPoint slide was very beneficial to me as it helped for me to better focus on the concepts of mental health that I wanted to focus on and the ideologies that i wanted to explore further as my pre-production kicks in.

My first slide of the presentation is obviously the main title card of the whole project as seen below (Scroll down) Having an effective, punchy, and catchy looking main intro title is highly important when trying to pitch a rational to any kind of client or fellow peers because you want your main selling idea to as bright, colourful and interesting as possible and to fit the relevancy of the topic subject market. It was hear that learned that simplistic and basic looking presentations are simply not good enough. This was important for me to pick up on because now I know how to make my ideas more attractive, understandable and appealing to my potential market audience.

My second PowerPoint slide gives a quick brief explanation to what the smile campaign is, what it's needs are, what it's audience market is and it's place within the industry as a whole. This is important to explain to clients/students so they know what my idea is being based off and inspired by. However i learned that long complicated reads of text bores my peers as to much can put them off of my project. This was bad as it meant they would have seen my project as overblown and to complicated. However keeping the description so my idea too simple and too bare bones, would have left them either feeling confused or slightly uninformed of the current pitch. This was important lesson to be learnt for many other potential rationale pitches to come. It is a balancing act between good emotive description but yet with a stroke of simplicity. This is why i made all of my statements within this pitch, all bolt pointed as to make my fellows clients and audience easier and clearer to understand the meaning and purpose behind my pitch.

My third PowerPoint slide brings the attention towards my mental health studies across the board of the whole of the world and also more importantly my local area and region. It was important for me to provide additional backdrop research into my pitch because in order for me to understand the meaning, concepts, ideologies and state of minds of those who belong to the mental health demographic . This would importantly illustrate towards my clients and peers as they would need and want someone who knows what he is talking about and that the idea I relevant to my additional research etc.

Furthermore, my fourth and last PowerPoint slide further expands upon the statistics and data from what my previous slide hinted at/attend. This is important to demonstrate towards my fellow clients/pupils because i need to show that i could give real facts and figures to further enhance and back up my additional descriptive research. This would have entitled graphs and additional survey studies of the mental health and social grade board. The reason to why I included the mentioning of a social grade measurement within my pitch was so i and the rest of the client audience can have a clear case of which target demographic of people to look for and market for in the long run of production.

The pitch

Survey/Peer Feedback.

This was necessary in order to gather peer/client feedback. Taking opinions and constructive criticism from my other pitch audiences allows me to make my presnations and pitches better and more professionally efficient. This shows that I learn from my mistakes and act apon them to make better, more engaging and more detailed answers, explanations and ideologies etc.

I kept my survey as clear, short, small and decisive as possible. The reason why was because i wanted my survey to feel inclusive amongst the general demographic this meant i could give & take in more efficient and easily digestible data to better support my rationale and the pitch of the overall project. This survey highly useful for me within the long run as it also helps me to further improve and evolve as a pitcher/presenter, this will keep me motivated towards better, clearer and more effective forms of pitching my ideas and projects, and will help my overall professionalism as a whole.

Idea generator/mind map
During my mind map creating, i have learned alot from presenting my ideas and all of my research visually in a creatively broad and widened scope and scale. Presenting my ideas within the idea generator/mind map format has also helped me and my fellow colleagues to analysis and pick out the best and the worst ideas (Positives & Negatives) to move further forward with the best and most realistic concepts and product ideas as    possible. https://coggle.it/diagram/X61NYRlMvRFSHJqn/t/stress-mental-health

I separated my research into four different islands of thought processes and ideas. This was to help maximize my creative management and creative prophecy. This was important because  it helped me and potential colleagues to help get a better and more professional grasp of my work/thought process thourghout the stages of development.

The four different islands divided off with certain different data and information where as follows... Social grade, The community(Sunderland itself), statistics & data etc. This was very beneficial to me later on during my preparation of the rationale in AC-2, because i could better structure my wording/sentences around the topic areas that mattered and need exploring and pitched to a beta audience.

Experimentation

Critically a started creating visual diaries of my potential ideas. Fonts, backgrounds, emotions, feelings and the overall vibe of my potential advert video was written down visually in my mind, thorough my phone's digital note book. The reason why i did my concept illustrations like this was so i make an find, recall, retrive and isolate the best ideas and most effective concepts, to maximize my possible outcome of pre-production. During my first thoughts of pre-production, in order to understand happiness, i had to understand sadness and how that mentally affected that person. This is reflected in my client background/research on AC-1, it felt like the most natural process to start with as keeping my production progression justified and smoothly done. Despite the little hiccup i made with trying to copy and paste this piece of concept evidence into my blog post, proved a little frasuting to do and the beginning. As the computer didn't regonise the screenshot as a j-peg, which proved to be a little problematic. I solved this by going thorough blogger manually on my phone instead, i simply saved the screenshot into my blogger files on my phone (since it was an app on my phone) this was successful and reapplied it my other note book screenshot just below...

My second drive of notes included more bullet points of information related to my AC-1. Once again i began early on to visualize my thought patterns on what my fonts, colours, themes and backgrounds could potentially look like. Although non of these phrases or tag-lines made it past my pre-production they where extremely valuable and where a critical phase at the beginning of my basic ideas. The effects of the colouring dots where made by the 'blotch' tool on my phone, since it was all touchscreen i could manipulation each one to look like a painting. (A very primitive looking one) if that. I then proceeded to make a collage of fonts, subheadings and background filters of what my branding might look like.
